Connect with your Local Rotary Club & secure their sponsorship
This may include a meeting or interview with their YEO (Youth Exchange Officer) or other members of their Youth Exchange Committee
Get signatures from your Local Rotary Club on the OB (Outbound) Guarantee Form (guarantee form sent in the “Application received; Follow-up documents and instructions” email)
Provide us with the name and email for a school reference (link also sent in the “Application received; Follow-up documents and instructions” email).
Submit all required documents using your Document Upload Link sent in the email with subject “Application received; Follow-up documents and instructions” that was received after submitting your application. These items are due by November 22, 2025

Note: Applicants are continually monitored during this entire process, from application to departure date. If at any point during this process there are questions raised about the applicant’s fit for exchange, there will be a meeting with the applicant, applicant’s parent(s)/guardian(s), and North Star representatives to discuss.

Fall Festival. Location: Hoċokata Ṫi Cultural Center, Pizza Ranch, Sever’s, Shakopee, MN
Country Fair (Required). Location: White Bear Lake High School
Ski Weekend. Location: Alexandria, MN
January Arrivals Only – Inbound & Host Family Orientation. Location: TBD
Winter Revelry (regional event). Location: Rice Lake, WI
Rotary Awareness Day at the Minnesota State Capitol
Outbound Orientation #2 (Inbounds & Outbounds overnight) (Required). Location: Mariner Middle School, White Bear Lake, MN
Hawaii Trip (Optional – register with Belo USA)
Twins or Saints Baseball Game
District 5960 Conference (Required). Inbounds will attend on Sar. Apr. 18 only. Location: DoubleTree, St. Paul East
Eagle Center& Northfield Overnight. Location: Wabasha, MN & Northfield, MN
Farewell Event. Location: Mall of America

Regional (optional) Events
Regional Events will be hosted by various Rotary Clubs throughout the exchange year. Some of these events will have the capacity to host all students interested in attending, and some will be for smaller groups. Our Events Team will ensure that invites are given equally amongst students. Location and type of activity will also be taken into account.
